PURPOSE:To shorten the activation time of a thermal battery by filling hollow cylindrical blasting powder in the fuse hole. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal battery constructed by laminating alternately an elementary cell provided with a fuse hole in the central part and a pelletlike exothermic material provided with a fuse hole similarly, a hollow cylindrical blasting powder is filled in the fuse hole. The hollow cylindrical blasting powder 9 filled in the fuse hole provided in the central part of the laminated elementary cell 8 and the pelletlike exothermic material 7 is close contacted to the said material 7 and fired accurately. When a instantaneous current is flowed between the ignition terminals 11 of the ignitor 10, the ignitor 10 is fired and its impulse and flame are transmitted instantaneously in the inner space of the blasting powder 9 to fire the blasting poser 9 immediately, and the pelletlike exothermic material 7 is fired sequentially to activate the thermal battery. |
