PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin without causing cloudiness, non-transparency, occurrence of foam, etc., by reacting a polyisocyanate with a polyhydroxy compound by the use of both an organolead compound and an organotin compound as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanate (e.g., 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate, etc.,) is reacted with a polyhydroxy compound (e.g., ethylene glycol, etc.,) by the use of an organolead compound (e.g., lead naphthenate, lead octylate, etc.,) and anorganotin compound (e.g., dibutyltin dilaurate, dibutyltin dimaleate, etc., preferably tetravalent tin compound) in a weight ratio of Pb/Sn of preferably 10-0.1 as a catalyst to give the aimed resin.
