An animal cell line transformed with an expression vector for an animal cell, the expression vector having a DNA comprising a protein-encoding DNA sequence and a DNA sequence coding for a signal peptide of a different, animal cell-derived protein, as joined to said protein-encoding DNA sequence on the upstream side thereof without causing any reading frame shift, as well as a promoter DNA capable of functioning in an animal cell on the upstream side of the DNA sequence coding for the signal peptide, can produce glycosylated proteins advantageously as secretable proteins.
