摘要 <p>1449076 Cooling gases by contact with liquids LINDE AG 15 Get 1974 [19 Get 1973] 44739/74 Heading F4K In a method for removing the heat generated when gas such as cracked hydrocarbon gas is compressed by multistage compression, the compressed gas is cooled in each compression stage by direct contact heat exchange with coolant liquid, e.g. water. As shown cracked gas supplied through a line 1 is compressed from 1 at. to about 33 at. in stages by means of compressors 2, 4, 6, 9 and 12, with the gas being cooled in each compression stage in spray coolers 3, 5, 7 and 10. Each spray cooler contains filler bodies to increase the heat exchange surface therein, and a filter 26 is provided in its upper region to prevent the gas from carrying over coolant liquid droplets into the next compression stage. A closed water circuit provided for cooling the cracked gas includes a pump 14, coolers 15, 18, 20 and expansion valves 17, 19, 21. The coolers 18 and 20 serve to cool the heated coolant water leaving one spray cooler prior to it entering the adjacent cooler. A liquid mixture consisting of water together with high boiling hydrocarbons in the benzine range condensed in the spray coolers 3, 5, 7 and 10, is withdrawn through a line 22 into a separator 23 wherein the hydrocarbons are separated from the water and withdrawn through a line 24 for further treatment, whilst the water is recycled through a line 25 to the pump 14. After the cracked gas has been compressed in intermediate compressor 6 to about 9 at. and recooled in spray cooler 7 to 30‹ C., it is subjected to an alkaline wash in a washing device 8; cracked gas leaving the last spray cooler 10 is subjected to glycol drying in a device 11 before being compressed in compressor 12 to a final pressure of 33 at. At this pressure the cracked gas is fed to a low temperature separation apparatus (not shown) in which it is separated into its components, i.e. primarily into hydrogen, methane, ethane and ethylene.</p>
