PURPOSE:To efficiently execute an access to a two-dimensional block on an XY plane by providing a means for reading out a memory space by bringing it to an access to two dimensions. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with 16 pieces of memory elements 1A-4D, and an input/output buffer 2 for bringing data to an access to one dimension, and an input buffer 3 for reading out a memory by bringing it to an access by two dimensions. According to such a constitution, for instance, in a mode 1, the memory element is brought to an access in the line direction and the data in the line direction are stored, and in a mode 2, the memory element is brought to an access in the row direction and the data are inputted as a matrix data. Accordingly, with respect to an image memory device, the data can be brought to an access by a block unit on an XY plane, and can be applied efficiently to an image processing.
