The process, for use in lubricating oil prodn., consists of (a)contacting the mixt. with a zeolite catalyst with constraint index less than 2 and possessing acid points associated with a component with hydrogenating/dehydrogenating activity, at 232-371 deg.C in presence of hydrogen: followed by (b)treatment of the mixt. at the same temp. in presence of a similar catalyst with constraint index above 2.
