PURPOSE:To use exclusively a vertical magnetized layer for a data signal, and to increase a storage capacity by recording a servo-track signal in a horizontal magnetized layer, in a magnetic recording medium having the vertical magnetized layer and the horizontal magnetized layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording medium has a structure which has coated a horizontal magnetized layer 2 and a vertical magnetized layer 1 in this order, on a base body 3. Also, with respect to a bit width of the vertical magnetized layer 1, a bit width of the horizontal magnetized layer 2 is set to its ten times or so. When a current is made to flow to a coil 14 of a servo-head 13, a magnetic flux 17 is generated. The servo-head 13 is provided in the vicinity of a vertical recording magnetic head 4, and as for the head 13, a magnetic flux density of the magnetic flux 17 to the vertical magnetized layer 1 is made lower than that of a head 4. Accordingly, the magnetic flux 17 magnetizes the horizontal magnetized layer 2 without exerting an influence on the vertical magnetized layer 1. Also, in a gap 16 of the head 13, an azimuth angle theta is provided to the head 4. Accordingly, a data signal 8 of the layer 1 and a servo-track signal 18 of the layer 2 have the azimuth angle, a mutual interference of both of them can be prevented. |
