PURPOSE:To make it possible to correct a basic and a high level pincushion distortions generated on the picture screen, by furnishing auxiliary coils at a coil transition part of a horizontal deflecting coil at the picture screen side, almost parallel to the transition part, and applying a current to it in the inverse direction to the coil transition part. CONSTITUTION:At a coil transition part 3 of a horizontal deflecting coil 2 at the picture screen side, auxiliary coils 4 is furnished almost parallel to the coil transition part, and a current is applied flowing inversely to the current flowing through the transition part. Two horizontal auxiliary coils 4 are arranged at the top and at the bottom. Therefore, by emphasizing the magnetic field 5c produced by the horizontal auxiliary coils 4, which is just reverse to the magnetic field 5b produced by the transition part 3 of the horizontal deflecting coil, the magnetic field of the horizontal coil transition part 3 is set off. At the same time, by forming a pincushion form magnetic field up to the picture screen side of the deflecting yoke, the pincushion distortions can be corrected.
