1282280 Servomotors; seals GIRLING Ltd 20 Aug 1969 [21 Aug 1968] 39974/68 Headings F2B and F2F A tandem servomotor comprises a pair of cells having end walls 16, 18 secured together to form a composite unit and constituting a partition dividing the interior of the unit into two separate chambers each of which are divided into two compartments by a respective one or two diaphragms coupled together by an axially directed sleeve 28, of phenolic resin, extending through an aperture in the partition. The end walls have portions, axially spaced apart to define an annular space 32 embracing the aperture and in which is located a fluid seal 34, which engages both the periphery of the sleeve and the separated wall portions. As shown, the seal 34 is of a moulded, oil-resistant rubber having radial lips 36, 38 and a generally axially directed lip 40 for engaging the sleeve 28 which embraces the pedal-operated input rod 25. |
