Process for improving the chilling of a long moving metallic product such as a bar of steel coming from a rolling mill

Process for cooling a long moving metallic product emerging from a hot-rolling mill. It consists in creating a leaktight chamber 8 provided with two supply pipes 9, 10 which are diametrically opposed and joined to a suitable source of cooling liquid which is placed at the entry of the tubular cooling unit 3 in order to prevent the penetration of air in the latter, in passing the metallic product 1, traversing the leaktight chamber 8, in order to introduce it into the cooling unit, and in ensuring the exit of at least a portion of the cooling liquid enclosed in the leaktight chamber 8 in a direction opposite to the direction of movement of the metallic product.
