PURPOSE:To increase the rate of pickling and to prevent uneven pickling when Ni or an Ni alloy is pickled with a mixed soln. contg. hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid, by adding a specified small amount of Ti ions to the mixed soln. CONSTITUTION:When Ni or an Ni alloy, especially 42 alloy is pickled with a mixed soln. contg. hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid, 5-10,000ppm Ti ions are added to the mixed soln. The added Ti ions repeat adsorption on the surface of the 42 alloy and desorption from the surface, accelerating the dissolution reaction of the surface. The Ti ions are added to the mixed pickling soln. in the form of metallic Ti, an inorg. Ti salt or the like.
