PURPOSE:To obtain a sulfide-free fluorescent material for low-speed electron beam, having long life and usable in a fluorescent display tube without causing the lowering of emission, by adding a specific amount of an electrically conductive substance to a specific silicate fluorescent material. CONSTITUTION:The objective fluorescent material can be produced by adding (A) 0.5-5wt% electrically conductive substance (preferably In2O3, SnO2, TiO2, WO3, etc.) to (B) a fluorescent material of formula ZnO.SiO2.aBeO; bMn(0<a<0.6; 0.005<b<0.2). EFFECT:A color fluorescent emission other than green color (e.g. yellow, yellowish green, orange, etc.) can be attained.
