The invention is a support for a chain for a selective diverting device for diverting an individual cookie from one conveyor belt path to antoher location. It is preferably used in combination with a sensing device, such as a weigher, optical sensor, color sensor, or the like, the sensor selecting out "rejected" articles and actuating the divering member.
