The drag lift comprises a cable 1 moving over grooved pulleys (grooved wheels, sheaves) and a return pulley located at the arrival point and it carries, by means of out-of-gear clamps 63 to 66, suspension parts 6 for towing the skiers. Between the last grooved pulley and the return pulley, a disengagement station comprises means 96 for automatically uncoupling the suspension members 6 of the cable 1 and thus allowing the skiers to depart from (leave) the suspension members 6 completely safely. A device 10 with endless chain 101 carrying retractable claws 104 allows the suspension members 6 without skiers to be pushed towards the exit of the disengagement station in the direction of the return pulley. The invention improves the safety conditions for the skiers on arrival and at the same time allows a greater number of skiers to be transported. (Figure 3).
