PURPOSE:To obtain a stable DC voltage even in a transient state by pulse-width controlling in immediate response to a voltage variation when a primary power source voltage abruptly increases. CONSTITUTION:An output voltage of an energy storing circuit 3 is supplied through a switching element 4, a high frequency transformer 5, a rectifier 6 and a smoothing circuit 7 to a load 8. A variation of an output voltage of the circuit 3 is detected by a voltage variation detector 16, a priority order of the detected output and an output of a pause time set voltage generator 15 is judged by a priority input discriminator 17, and its discrimination output is applied as a quiescent time set voltage of a pulse-width modulator 13. The element 4 is controlled ON, OFF by the output of the modulator 13.
