PURPOSE:To obtain an information-recording medium capable of recording and erasing information, by laminating, or incorporating in mixture, a heat- sensitive material and a light-absorbing material comprising at least one polymethylene compound of a specified formula. CONSTITUTION:A polymethylene compound of formula I or II is laminated or incorporated as a light-absorbing material to produce an information- recording medium capable of recording and erasing information. In formula I, each of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 is hydrogen, a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl, a substd. or unsubstd. aryl, substd. or unsubstd. styryl or a substd. or unsubstd. heterocyclic group, m is 0 or 1, n is 0, 1 or 2, and X<-> is an anion. In formula II, each of A, B, D and E is a substd. or unsubstd. aryl, each of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 is hydrogen, a halogen or an alkyl, Y is a bivalent residue having an atomic group necessary for completing a 5- or 6-membered ring, and X<-> is an anion. The information-recording medium is capable of recording and erasing information at high speed and in high density, by heating a specified region thereof to a specified temperature. |
