PURPOSE:To simplify the trouble at replacement of a POS terminal device, by requesting a total amount of sales so far and a sales serial number from the POS terminal device to a host CPU and setting the serial number freely. CONSTITUTION:Plural number of POSs 5A-N are connected with a line 3 to the host CPU2. If any of the POS is failed, it is replaced with a spare POS5Z. The number is memorized 16 at a POS number set means 8 of a KB7. The final sales serial number NA of the failed device is added with (1) to form initial and memorized 16. A sales total request indicating means 9 on the KB7 is operated and transmitted together with the POS number via a telegraphic message forming and interpreting means 13 and a transmission means 12. The data is received 11 from the CPU2, the telegraphic message is interpreted 13 and memorized 16 via a buffer 15. Thus, the spare POS5Z is operated with data continuous to the failed POS, allowing to simplify the trouble of replacement. |
