摘要 PURPOSE:To detect a real knock condition with high accuracy by judging a distribution form when the maximum wave height value has undergone multiple cycle sampling and detecting an average knock condition. CONSTITUTION:A maximum wave height value detecting means which takes out the maximum wave height value out of signals of a knock sensor 4 for detecting the knock of an engine 1, is provided in a control circuit 10. And, judgment is made whether a distribution form which is obtained when the maximum wave height value has undergone multiple combustion cycle sampling, is the described distribution form or not. In accordance with this judged result, an average knock condition ranging over plural cycles is detected and, according to this, a knock controlling factor is controlled. Thereby, a knock condition can be detected without being affected by the dispersion of the knock sensor 4 or the engine 1, aging effects, etc., to keep the engine 1 in the target knock generating condition among the plural cycles.
