PURPOSE:To obtain an information-recording medium capable of recording and erasing information, by laminating, or incorporating in mixture, a light- absorbing material comprising a compound having an azulenium salt nucleus of a specified formula. CONSTITUTION:An azulenium compound of formula I, II or III is laminated or incorporated, thereby producing an information-recording medium capable of recording and erasing information. In the formulas, each of R1-R7 is hydrogen, a halogen or a univalent organic residue, Z<-> is an anion residue, and A is a bivalent organic residue linked by a double bond. This information-recording medium is capable of displaying information by heating a specified region thereof to a specified temperature. |
