PURPOSE:To obtain the titled catalyst which is suitable for the outerdoor reaction use and is easy to recover and reproduce by supporting a substance having a catalytic function and contg. a catalytic activity on a high polymer material capable of floating in water in a small size, a block or a foam shape. CONSTITUTION:The substrate having a lighter weight than that of water is produced by forming a cheap and widely used polymer such as polyethylene and polypropylene, etc., in a block, foam or fabric shape, thereby making said polymer to a low density. And then the reactive group is introduced to the obtd. substrate by an additional reaction or a substituting reaction, and an organometallic complex, an enzyme or a microbacteria, etc., are fixed by reacting it with said reactive group. Thus, the titled catalyst which is easy to recover and reproduce and is suitable for reaction use at the normal temp. and pressure using a great volume of a dilute aqueous solution, is obtd.
