PURPOSE:To enable the moisture-proof sealability of a load cell to be secured by mounting a heating element to the strain generator of the load cell whereto a strain gage is adhered. CONSTITUTION:A strain generator 1 is provided with beams 2a and 2b and strain gages 9...9. In the blank space between the beams 2a and 2b, a heating element 10 is mounted to a base end portion 3 through a bracket 11. The element 10 is provided with an automatic temperature control function and operates such that a constant temperature is always maintained even when an applied voltage or an ambient temperature varies. Therefore, the strain generator 1 and the strain gages 9...9 can be maintained at a set temperature and also a temperature compensating resistor that eliminates a span variation in the output of the lead cell can be removed. Further, the element 10 is disposed at a position spaced by an equal distance from the strain gages 9...9 so that these gages each have an equal temperature. A prescribed voltage is supplied to the element 10 via lead wires 12 to be always heated. Thus, the moisture- proof sealability of the load cell can be secured.
