PURPOSE:To manufacture a magnetic head to realize a very good magnetic recording reproduction without improving widely the processing accuracy by forming the first groove having the side surface approximately vertical to the edge surface to the edge surface of an oxide magnetic material block at the prescribed pitch, next, coating a magnetic metallic film after forming a winding groove, forming the second groove between the first above-mentioned grooves, filling a nonmagnetic material to these grooves, forming the block without the winding groove with the same structure, butting and junctioning these and cutting them in the prescribed direction. CONSTITUTION:To a ferrite block 30, a groove 31, for which the cross section comes to be a reentrant angle, is cut, ground and processed at the prescribed pitch. Next, a winding groove 37 is formed to the ferrite block 30 in which the groove 31 is formed, and further, a magnetic metallic film 32 is coated and formed. Into the groove 31 where the magnetic metallic film 32 is coated to the side surface and the bottom surface, a high melting point glass 33 is melted and charged. Next, a groove 34 is formed at the position shifted at the constant distance to the groove 31, further, after the magnetic gap material is at the magnetic media sliding surface side, the high melting point glass is melted and charged even in the groove 34, the plane is ground and a core half block is obtained.
