<p>PURPOSE:To achieve an accurate length measurement, by using a cable sensor for reference in addition to measuring cable sensor buried into an object to solve such problems as lowered measuring accuracy depending on observing area, drift, errors due to gradient in rise and fall. CONSTITUTION:A cable sensor 24S for reference is used in addition to a measuring cable sensor 24 buried into an object which is being corroded gradually due to heating by a refractory. A square wave pulse is applied to one end of the cable sensor 24S for reference and form a pulse reflected following specified point near the other end. This is a combined wave A while a combined waves B is that formed at a point corresponding to the specified point of the measuring cable sensor 24. A length reference is obtained from the combined wave A and melt loss length of the measuring cable sensor 24 is determined from a deviation between the rise/fall part before the use of the sensor and the current rise/fall in the combined wave B with respect to the length reference.</p> |
