PURPOSE:To enhance safety by disposing to neglect an on-signal of an acceleration means when the speed of a vehicle reaches a minimum and still the said on-signal is outputted so that acceleration control is forbidden even if the acceleration means breaks down. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle speed control means 1 outputs control signals based on signals supplied from each of switches 2, 15 and 16 and a vehicle speed sensor 19 to an actuator drive circuit 20 for performing either driving, acceleration or deceleration control. And when it is sensed that an on-signal is outputted from the acceleration switch 2 before the vehicle reaches a speed range which enables cruising at a constant speed, it is disposed at an information processing part 4 to neglect the on-signal as an acceleration signal from the acceleration switch 2 or from the resume switch 16 so that the acceleration control is not performed.
