PURPOSE:To enable a transfer layer to be transferred onto an object to which a pattern is to be transferred, in correspondence with figures, characters or the like of the pattern, by irradiating a transfer material with laser light through a desired pattern to make the laser light to converge on the transfer layer and to convert the laser light into thermal energy, thereby melting the transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:Laser light 60 passed through the part of figures, characters or the like of a pattern 40 penetrates through a base 10 of a transfer material 30, and is converged, and converted into thermal energy, on a transfer layer 20 held in contact with an object 50 to which the pattern is to be transferred. As a result, the transfer layer 20 at the part is melted, and is adhered to the object 50. Even where the pattern is constituted of a multiplicity of minute points or lines, the thermal energy is condensed only to the minute points or lines without producing any considerable thermal effect on the surrounding part, so that transfer with favorable minuteness and sharpness can be performed. Minute points down to minute squares having a length of each side of about 0.02mm can be transferred. |
