PURPOSE:To efficiently dry the edges of a strip by providing a partition wall having a slit in the mid-way where the strip transfers from a squeezing stage to a drying stage and blowing air in a specific direction to the strip. CONSTITUTION:The partition wall 9 having the slit 8 through which the strip 1 passes is provided in the mid-way where the strip 1 transfers from the squeezing stage 5 to the drying stage 6. The air 11 is blown by wipers 10a, 10b to the strip 1 delivered from the slit 8 from the side facing the transfer direction thereof and inside in the transverse direction thereof toward the edge sides 1b, 1c. The air to be blown may be the hot air supplied from hot air blowers 12. Then the overcoating and defective drying of the edges of the strip are thoroughly prevented and the influence of the air on the squeezing rolls is prevented. Efficient drying is thus executed.
