The circuit arrangement for protecting the excitation circuit of a synchronous machine having a rotor winding supplied via sliprings, which circuit arrangement indicates a defect in the excitation circuit of synchronous machines, is formed by a measurement bridge in whose diagonals a measurement element is connected through which no current flows in normal operation. In this case, no difference is indicated on a differentiating element to which voltage is supplied from shunts. In the event of a defect, the balance of the measurement bridge is disturbed, or a change in the behaviour of the currents flowing through the shunts occurs, which leads to an indication. |
