PURPOSE:To make stabilized driving with good power performance possible by making it possible to optionally select either of front wheel- or rear wheel direct connection modes with a viscous coupling, and by making it possible to make the most of the property of the viscous coupling. CONSTITUTION:To an output shaft 5 of a transmission is connected a viscous coupling 30 having a hub 31 connected to the output shaft 5 and a housing 32 respectively having integral plates 33 and 34 staggeredly arranged between the hub 31 and the housing 32 so that the said coupling has a property in which transmitted torque increases according to the rotation difference between the hub 31 and the housing 32. A 3-position engagement clutch 35 is arranged between the output shaft 5, the housing 32 of the viscous coupling (VC) and a front drive shaft (F) 14 for VC-F direct connection and a 3-position engagement clutch 40 is arranged between gears 23, 25 and a rear drive shaft (R) 19 for VC-R direct connection.
