PURPOSE:To stably supply alkaline ion water by using UV rays for removing carbonate ions generated when a Ca salt is wetted with the water to be treated. CONSTITUTION:Water to be treated is introduced into a treating vessel 10. An UV lamp 50 for irradiating UV rays on the water to be treated is arranged in the vessel. Meanwhile, the Ca salt such as CaCO3 is arranged at the bottom part of the treating vessel 10 and wetted with the water to be treated. UV rays emitted from the UV lamp 50 is projected. Consequently, since the carbonate ions generated when the Ca salt is wetted with the water to be treated is removed by using UV rays, the absolute amt. of Ca ions to be generated in the water to be treated is increased, and the alkaline ion water can be stably supplied.
