PURPOSE:To deal with production of diversified kinds in smaller quantities and to produce a painted molding which does not darken by painting the surface of the molding obtd. by press molding under heating of a phenolic resin molding material contg. wood meal. CONSTITUTION:The phenolic resin (e.g., novolak type phenolic resin, resol type phenolic resin, modified phenolic resin) molding material contg. 20-150 mesh wood meal (e.g., cryptomeria wood meal) at 15-75wt% of the total weight is molded under heating and pressurizing conditions of, for example, 150kg/cm<2>, 150 deg.C and 3min. the surface of the resulted molding is coated with the acryl modified polyurethane paint or alkali metal silicate paint, etc., having excellent heat resistance. As a result, the production of diversified kinds in smaller quantities is dealt with and a painted molding which does not darken is obtd.
