PURPOSE:To increase the number of images formed per ink ribbon by arranging a recording head so that it may be positioned above a means to move a member on which an image is to be formed. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical platen (a means to move a member for an image to be formed) 41 carrying paper P while supporting the latter is driven by a pulse motor 42 at a prearranged pitch through a train of deceleration gears. Above this platen 41, a thermal head (thermosensitive head) 43 is arranged in an opposite position as a recording head. This thermal head 43 moves by a head moving means serving along the axial direction of the platen 41. Therefore, when thermosensitive paper is used as paper P, an image can be formed by arranging the thermal head 43 directly opposed to paper P instead of fitting a ribbon cassette 65. On the other hand, when ordinary paper is used as paper P, the ribbon cassette 65 is set on a ribbon cassette mount 37 formed at the rear edge of a main unit 1, and a thermomelting ink ribbon 67 is interposed beforehead between paper P and the thermal head 4, thus visualizing an image. |
