A turbine, which rotates in the same direction of rotation for both directions of flow, has a plurality of groups of rotor blades. Adjacent rotor blades (7<1>, 7<2>) of a group interact in respect of the flow, at least one rotor blade (7<1>, 7<2>) of each group respectively being adjustable, for example slidable, tiltable or pivotable, according to the flow direction (4, 5). In this way the dimensions of the turbine can be reduced for the same power output. A turbine of this type is suitable, for example, for obtaining energy from ocean wave movement, air alternately moved in opposite directions by the waves serving as fluid medium. <IMAGE>
