PURPOSE:To designate the number of a storage area and a retrieval start position by declaring the usage of a high-order node to which accessed frequently, and storing the actual file name of an administration file which represents the node to a main storage device. CONSTITUTION:A microinstruction which declares the usage of a node A at a high-order position in a file group accessed frequently is issued, and the actual file name of the administration file which represents the node A is stored at an area 2b in a main storage device 2, and the number of the area is transferred to the issuing original of the microinstruction. Designating the number hereafter to access a file, a retrieval can be started from the node A at the high-order position.
