A gas-washing bottle has a gas inlet 5 to a chamber 6 which opens at its base into liquid contained in a chamber 2 communicating at 0 with a third chamber 11 with a gas outlet 9, the whole being such hat any liquid carried over or sucked back rom the chamber 2 an be accommodated in chambers 11 and 6 espectively. The chamber 2 has disposed herein a pressure qualising tube 12, the tube 12 communicating with a suitable atmophere via a labyrinth indicated generally at 4 and a tube 22. Alternatively the labyrinth may be connected (Fig. 3, not shown) to a ounter-pressure valve with a bursting plate. n a modification the hamber 2 may have a mid-section which is narrower than the upper and lower portions thereof. |
