PURPOSE:To provide a thermal head enhanced in insulation between a support and a cylindrical rod member, by spacing both end parts of a main body of a head and the support from each other. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal head, a recessed groove of a support member 3 for supporting a cylindrical rod 2 provided with heating elements 1 thereon is cut away in a semicylindrical form with a radius R2 over a length D2 from each end part thereof so that the member 3 makes contact with the rod 2 at a major part thereof in the longitudinal direction but it does not make contact with the rod 2 at both end parts thereof. The same effect can be achieved also by a construction wherein a taper is provided from each end part of the support member 3, having a surface with the radius R2 from the center of the rod 2, to the point of the length D2. In each of these two types of thermal beads, the end parts of the support member are out of contact with the end parts of the cylindrical rod. With such a construction wherein side end parts of the support member 3 are out of contact with the cylindrical rod 2, the insulation between the member 3 and the rod 2 can be maintained to be excellent. |
