PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve the high-temperature durability of a fiber-reinforced rubber composite wherein the reinforcing layer consists of a fibrous canvas, by using an ethylene/propylene rubber as the rubber and treating the canvas with a specified adhesive solution. CONSTITUTION:A fiber-reinforced rubber composite having a fibrous canvas as a reinforcing layer, wherein an ethylene/propylene rubber is used as the rubber and the canvas is treated with an adhesive treatment solution. Said adhesive treatment solution is a mixture containing a precondensate of resorcinol (R) with formalin (F) (R/F solution), a cholorosulfonated polyethylene latex (L) and zinc flower (Z). The mixing ratio is such that R/F (mol)=1/2-1/4, RF solution/L (weight)=14/100-30/100 and Z/L (in terms of nonvolatiles)=0.3/100-5.5/100. Said fiber-reinforced rubber composite can be obtained by impregnating a reinforcing canvas with said adhesive solution, baking it after heater treatment, integrally bonding it with a rubber and vulcanizing the rubber. |
