PURPOSE:To obtain a pyrrole polymer film which is dense and has a sufficiently practicable mechanical strength by polymerizing a pyrrole in an aqueous solution in the presence of trisoxalatochromate (III) ions by electrochemical oxidation. CONSTITUTION:The purpose polymer film is obtained by polymerizing a pyrrole compound or its mixture by anodic oxidation in an aqueous solution in the presence of an electroconductive salt comprising trisoxalatochromate (III) ions, while regulating the anodic potential by means of a reference electrode. The concentration of the electroconductive salt used is usually 0.001-1mol per lof a solvent. As the cations of the electroconductive salts, alkali metal cations, preferably, K<+> and Na<+> are used. The obtained film can be used in, for example, parts for use in electronic engineering, electric switches, special electrode materials, shielding materials and solar cells.
