PURPOSE:To inhibit the rot of various coating solns., to improve the productivity and to reduce the load of facilities including storage equipment by regulating the calcium content in gelatin as hydrophilic colloid to <=1,000ppm. CONSTITUTION:Gelatin contg. <=1,000ppm calcium is obtd. by properly combining the selection of starting materials with the selection of conditions during production and the adoption of ion exchange or other treatment. Various trace constituents are present in the gelatin besides calcium and some of them affect the propagation of microorganisms, so it is necessary to observe well constituents which accelerate the propagation. For example, the amount of phosphoric acid is preferably restricted to <=200ppm (expressed in terms of PO4). |
