PURPOSE:To improve the comfortableness of a living space upon starting heating operation by a method wherein an up-and -down deflecting vane and left-and-right deflecting vanes are driven so that the blow-off direction of air is directed downward and is branched while the rotating number of a fan is changed from small to large so that the amount of airflow is increased from a small amount to a large amount when a blow-of air temperature has arrived at a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:When a blow-off air temperature, detected by a thermistor 21 is lower than a set temperature, a central motor 3 is turned right, a left motor 9a is turned left, a right motor 9b is turned right and is stopped while the rotating number of a fan motor 16b is set small. In this case, the amount of blow-of air is made small and blow-off air is directed horizontal while being concentrated. In case the blow-off air temperature detected by the thermistor 21 is higher than the set temperature, the central motor 3 is rotated left, the left motor 9a is turned right,the right motor 9b is turned left and is stopped while the fan motor 16b is rotated at high speed. In this case, the amount of the blow-off air is increased to a large amount while the direction of the blow-off air is directed downward and is branched.
