PURPOSE:To eliminate concentration difference in electrolyte in a battery by sucking an electrolyte in a porous separator through a fine tube by using the variation in internal pressure in the battery to transfer the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A safety vent in a sealed lead-acid battery is opened to exhaust gas when the internal pressure of the battery becomes higher than the atmospheric pressure by overcharge, and on the other hand, during storage, the internal pressure becomes lower than the atmospheric pressure. The internal pressure of the battery changes in a wide range during use. When the internal pressure of the battery which is equal to the internal pressure of a container 6 is increased by charge, a valve 7 opens and the electrolyte in a porous separator 4 is sucked up through a fine tube 5, and retained in the container. When the battery is discharged or allowed to stand, the internal pressure of the battery is lowered than that of the container 6, and a valve 8 opens and the electrolyte in the container 6 is transferred to the bottom of the battery through a fine tube 9. Therefore, even if the concentration difference is produced in the battery, the electrolyte circulated and the concentration is kept uniform. |
