The subject of the present invention is a drilling machine comprising a support element, a fastening ring 11, a drilling-work bucket 10 which may be fastened to the ring 11 and has, at its lower part, articulated shells or shovels, the latter being forced into their open position by elastic means and controlled by a control and lifting cable 12 which passes over a pulley 13 carried by the support element and is wound around the drum of a lifting winch 14. According to the invention, the support element consists of an arm 1 articulated on a platform 3 which can be directed on a frame 4 and on which the lifting winch 14 is mounted. The fastening ring 11 can move over the whole length of the arm 1 and is coupled to two cables 16 which are arranged on either side of the lifting cable 12 and may be moved for example by a jack with pulley block 21, a counterweight or an auxiliary winch. <IMAGE>
