PURPOSE:To simultaneously cut and polish a spherical surface of optional radius of curvature, by providing an angle adjusting shaft, through which a rotary shaft fixing a surface plate penetrates, while tilting the rotary shaft by said adjusting shaft and cutting the surface plate to be polished by a cutting tool on a turnable arm. CONSTITUTION:A surface plate 1 is fixed to a rotary shaft 2 and rotated. While the rotary shaft 2 is rotated through a hole drilled penetrating in the diametric direction through an almost horizontally arranged angle adjusting shaft 4. A spur gear 7 is provided in the angle adjusting shaft 4 and meshed with a worm gear 9 turned by a handle 8. If the adjusting shaft 4 is turned by controlling the handle 8, the rotary shaft 2 is tilted being left as rotated. While an arm turning shaft 10 is provided in the upper surface of a fixed bed 5, and the shaft 10 fixes an arm 3 to the upper end while a cutting tool 11 to the point end part of the arm on an upper surface of the surface plate 1. The surface plate 1 is tilted rotating, and if the arm 3 is turned, the surface plate 1 is cut and polished by the tool 11 into a spherical shape. In this way, a machine enables a radius of curvature to be optionally changed by a tilting degree of the surface plate while its cutting and polishing to be simultaneously performed. |
