PURPOSE:To measure the density or width of a holograph, by simple constitution such that a pair of image sensors forming a definite angle are contacted with a recording medium under pressure to apply operational processing to detection output corresponding to the linear holograph on the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A pair of image sensors 4, 5 arranged at a definite angle thetaare contacted with a recording medium 1 on which a linear holograph 2 is drawn under pressure. The detection area outputs (a), (b) of said sensors 4, 5 are respectively supplied through a switch SW and converted to a digital signal by an A/D converter 7 to be stored in a memory 8. An operation circuit 9 calculates the height corresponding to the width W of the holograph from a triangle formed of two sides corresponding to the angle theta and the outputs (a), (b) on the basis of the stored content of the memory 8 and outputs the same along with the density of the holograph 2. By this simple constitution such that a pair of image sensors are contacted under pressure, the density and width of the holograph are measured with high accuracy.
