PURPOSE:To improve a bleaching or a bleach-fixing property of the titled material by bleaching or bleach-fixing processing the titled material contg. a developing retarder having a hydrophilic group in a presence of a specific compd. shown by the formula. CONSTITUTION:The titled material contg. the developing retarder having the hydrophilic group is bleaching or bleach-fixing processed in the presence of the compd. shown by formula I. The developing retarder having the hydrophilic group comprises preferably the compd. shown by formula II. When said compd. is incorporated into only the photographic constituting layer, the amount of said compd. to be added is 1X10<-5>-5X10<-3>mol/m<3>. When said compd. is incorporated into the processing solution or the preprocessing solution having a bleaching ability, said amount is preferably 1X10<-3>-1mol/l.
