PURPOSE:To obtain a diffusion illuminator with a higher diffusing property in the emission light quantity level but low therein vertical to the light diffusion surface, by arranging a parallel light source which is adapted to irradiate a light parallel with an optical fiber plate surface at an angle of incidence not zero to the incident optical axis thereof. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from a strobe light source 13 is turned to a parallel light with a collimator lens 12 and made incident into an optical fiber plate 11 at an angle theta of incidence (theta not equal to zero). The light in the optical fiber of the optical fiber plate 11 is totally reflected repeatedly and made to emit along a conical plane with the apex of 2theta. A pinhole near the edge of a moving strip body 3 irradiated with the emission is detected with TV camera 6. |
