PURPOSE:To quickly measure alpha-amino nitrogen with good accuracy by blowing gas from a nozzle and executing reaction while applying ultrasonic waves to a sample soln. in a reaction cell having a gas blow nozzle and taking a specified ratio of the formed gas which is the resultant reaction product then introducing the same into a detection system. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed amt. of the sample soln. is drawn 30 and is injected 28 into the cell, a 4-way selector cock 23 is selected to a circulating line to inject respective reactive liquids into the cell. An ultrasonic oscillator and circulation pump 42 of a heating thermostatic chamber 34 with the ultrasonic oscillator are operated to apply the ultrasonic waves to the sample soln.. The reaction is caused while the carrier gas is shown from the blow nozzle. The cock 40 is then selected to the detection system and a specified ratio of the gas formed by the reaction and is dispersed 41 is introduced into the detection system by the helium carrier gas. Nitrogen oxide is removed 44 and after moisture is removed 45 from the gas, the gas is passed through a sepn. column 47. The gaseous nitrogen and the other gases are separated and thereafter the nitrogen gas is detected 49. The peak height or peak area thereof is detected by a recorder 50, by which the alpha-amino nitrogen is measured.
