PURPOSE:To simplify the mutual connection different in kind of network terminal equipments and to eliminate the limit for the kind of terminal equipment by corresponding an incoming address and a connection destination terminal equipment address in advance, and using the corresponding destination terminal equipment address so as to apply connection control to a packet exchange network. CONSTITUTION:When a line connection section 52-1 detects an incoming call from a terminal equipment 20-1 via a public telephone network 10, it is informed to a communication control section 51. The control section 51 feeds an incoming address to an inter-network connection control section 57, which searches a terminal address storage section 56 to extract an address of a terminal equipment 40-1 corresponding to the incoming address. A call request to call the terminal equipment 40-1 is supplied to a packet exchange network 30 by using the extracted address. Then, the i coming is received to the network 10 by the connection end notice from the network 30. Thus, the data transfer between the terminal equipments 20-1 and 40-1 is attained. In such a state, a protocol conversion section 55 executes protocol conversion between networks 10 and 30 different in the kind of network to each other.
