PURPOSE:To secure the initial setting operation of a film by moving a film detection part which detects whether a film is present or not away from a film feed path associatively with the opening operation of a rear cover when a film is loaded. CONSTITUTION:When the rear cover is opened so as to load the film, a rear cover associating member 20 rotates clockwise around a support shaft 21 because a pin 24 is released from being pressed by the rear cover. A film detection member 10, therefore, rotates counterclockwise around the support shaft 11 and a film detection part 15 moves away from an opening 3 completely, so that the film 2 put in a cartridge is set without any trouble. Then, when the rear cover is closed against the tensile force of a tension spring 25, the film detection part 15 is held at the 1st position where it is made to abut on the surface of the film 22. When the film 2 is absent, on the other hand, the film detection part 15 crosses the film feed path and is held at the 2nd position. The film absent state of the film 2 is detected electrically by the displacement of a switch operating piece 17.
