PURPOSE:To easily with high accuracy find the generation place of a linear beam type structure where an impulsive abnormal sound is generated by fitting accelerometers which detect a longitudinal wave and a bending wave at one optional point of the linear beam type structure. CONSTITUTION:An accelerometer 14 whose sensitivity direction is set in the axial direction of piping 11 detects the longitudinal wave X propagated from the abnormal sound generation place 16 and an accelerometer 15 whose sensitivity direction is set at right angles to the axis detects the bending wave Y. Then, the longitudinal wave X and bending wave Y are detected by the accelerometers 14 and 15 while having a time difference DELTAt. Then, an equation (where l is the axial distance between the abnormal sound generation place and accelerometers 14 and 15, CL is the propagation speed of the longitudinal wave, and CB(f) is the propagation speed of the bending wave) is solved based on the propagation speeds of the longitudinal wave X and bending wave Y to finds the generation place of the linear structure where the impulsive abnormal sound is generated easily with high accuracy. |
