Filter unit inserted into a fluid vein, comprising a casing fastened between two pipelines for the vein and means for holding a filter in the casing transversely to the fluid stream. In accordance with the invention the central housing of the casing 1 opens on one side of the latter, defining two parallel grooves 8, 9 and the means for holding the filter consist essentially of a filter-carrier slide 10 which can be inserted into the casing, sealing means 20, 21 being provided between the casing and the filter-carrier slide. Application especially to the abstraction of particles from a gas stream within the context of measuring atmospheric pollution. <IMAGE>
